easyfundraising for F4A

There’s now two easy ways for you to help raise funds for Food4Africa!

Shop Online and Raise Funds

easyfundraising is a shopping directory listing some of your favourite online stores including Argos, Next, Debenhams, John Lewis, Toys R Us, HMV and over 2000 others. Just use the links on the easyfundraising site whenever you shop online and, at no extra cost to you, we’ll receive a free donation of up to 15% from every purchase you make. It really is that simple!

It’s completely FREE to register and you won’t pay a penny more for your shopping when you use the easyfundraising site. In fact you can even SAVE MONEY as many retailers offer discounts, special offers and even ‘e-vouchers’ exclusive to easyfundraising.

If you shop online anyway then why not raise valuable extra funds for us by using this fantastic scheme. All you need to do is visit http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/food4africa and when you register, select Food4Africa as the organisation you wish to support.

Search the Web and Raise Funds

You can also raise funds when you search the Web – with easysearch, a search engine with a difference!

When you search the Web with easysearch instead of Google or any other search engine, you’ll raise funds for us with every search you make! Just like easyfundraising it’s completely free to use and if you make just 10 searches a day, you could raise £20 a year – or more – for us, just by switching to easysearch.

What’s more, easysearch is a ‘super’ search engine that combines the strengths of several search providers together – Yahoo!, Bing, Ask.com and many more. easysearch tracks down the most relevant and accurate results from across the Web, which means you’ll find what you’re looking for quickly and easily every time – all in one ‘easy’ search.

Check out our unique easysearch page at http://food4africa.easysearch.org.uk and use it every time you search the Web.

Just 10p a day to feed a child

It’s so easy to make a difference

It costs just 10p a day to feed a child.

That’s just £3.00 a month to feed a child one meal a day.  We need to make sure we can feed each child every day…

A Fond Farewell

The world is an emptier place today with the sad passing of Len Harvey.

Len was, quite simply, my hero.  This inspiring, dedicated, selfless, passionate man worked tirelessly to make sure that over 11,000 children are fed every day.

He made a difference to the lives of so many people (I know he changed mine).
I am deeply privileged to have known him.

Big hugs, Len, as always.
I miss you.

A lick of paint…

The play equipment at Khandandlovu Creche has had a paint job! And we think it looks fabulous…

The equipment was kindly funded by the Kilmarnock Amateur Operatic Society in 2009.

Deliveries in Kwazulu-Natal

All hands on deck when the F4A porridge makes it to the Two Tunics office for distribution.

Here are some photos of the team as they prepare to make their monthly deliveries to 500 children in southern Kwazulu-Natal.

Report from SA

What a start to my 2010! I have just returned from South Africa where I saw first-hand how all the kind donations we receive in the UK go directly to feeding children.

It is so inspiring to see how this simple process makes such a difference. It really is about raising money and using it to feed children – with nothing in the middle to detract from it.

And, as always, everywhere I went, I saw happy, smiling children. That’s when I know it is still working…

A big thank you to Onnie, Debbie and Cameron for inviting me on your food distribution trip to the creches in Kwazulu-Natal – it was wonderful to see how the children are growing and developing.

It was great to catch up with Gordon and Barbara from F4A SA – we don’t get to see each other often enough.

Another big thank you…this time to you guys and to Pauline for all your hard work in SA making sure our UK donations go directly to where we ask.

Take care, Dawn

Ps Hopefully it goes without saying… however, just to re-state, all the money you donate goes to the process of feeding children. None of it goes on airfares etc, which is funded personally.
